That is an incredibally wonderful sketch, Daisy! You have such a gift in art. All of it just stuns me to no end, and this image is no exception. Terrific job! I can't wait to see more!

Thanks. I've been working on scanning more of my sketches (mostly doodles, nothing really finished), but I've had so much homework lately, I haven't had much time.

I know the feeling. But not so much homework only for me, but with all the other things I cram-pack into my day. I can totally relate. In the last two days I was on for a total of three hours. Today I have finally gotten some decent time.

Wow, now that's really good. I really like how it is half a face, gives it a unique flavor.

Wow, a very good sketch! You are talented! I love the detail, the shades, the eyes. everything! Specially the eyes. The eyes are the most beautiful thing in a human's physical aspect, and you draw them so well.

Yoshigirl: Thanks, though it's only half a face because I ran out of room on the paper . . . .
Jessica M.: Thanks. Eyes are the best part of a person, and I love drawing them. I was kinda disappointed that Kid Blink only has one eye, but it was still fun to draw. I'll have to dig out my old sketches of eyes and post 'em sometime.

Thanks, but he's actually not a pirate. In 1992, Disney made a movie (it's a musical!) called Newsies, based on the newsboys strike against Pulitizer in New York, 1899.
Kid Blink, while also a character in the movie, was an actual newsie around that time; in fact, Kid Blink actually led the strike (though he didn't start it). Kid Blink was named because of his eye patch, which was supposed to make people feel sorry for him and buy a newspaper from. he really didn't have a bad eye . . . .
