"Scientists have reconstructed the genetic code of the deadly 1918 "Spanish flu," which swept the globe and killed an estimated 20 to 40 million people. Among their findings: The 1918 virus strain developed in birds and was similar to the "bird flu" that today has spurred fears of another worldwide epidemic." Full Article HereSo there is now this bird flu that could be a raging pandemic. Kinda of scary if you ask me. This could be as bad as the European plague!!! I hope that they're able to either keep it contained or make a good vaccine for it!

I heard about that flu. I'm honestly worried about it because family members of mine were killed by the 1918 Spanish Flu. I have tried flu shots, but my doctors have notice that they don't work on me so I'm left in the cold and catch flu's easily. T_T I hope this doesn't get too serious for a lot of people's sakes.

I can hear you on that. My Dad is allergic to the flu, so if he doesn't get the shot fast he will probably die if he caught this strain. And I really don't want that.
I'm not sure if the flu shots would work on myself or not, because I have never gotten one before. But I hope they would!
As for you... stay away from all sick people!!! Quarentine yourself in a germ-free environment!

Tried that and still got it. Well, I have to go to places like my school and such and that's where I get them. Myself as well as my mom could die from this flu. >_< One of my friends already has the flu, but we donno if it is this type. I really hope not.

I hope not as well. Perhaps that's when homschooling should start or something. And a lot of hot showers to kill germs.

I wouldn't worry about that. I'm sure those laboratories the scientists are testing in are air-tight and I bet they're clean-rooms (rooms that before you go in, you have to go into another room that sucks all the germs out) And very few people have access to those labs (imagine 10 or less) and they're trained to prevent those kinds of things from happening. But getting the common flu is still a pain though; and my mom is one of those asian parents that have a rule that kind of says 'if you don't have something as bad as SARS or the ebola virus, you're going to school' lol
