i think that he is one of the most interesting artists of all time. (His work at the least) if you're not familiar with him or his works, you actually may know more than you think. He was the one that painted the 'Last Supper' if you're part of a religious family (Catholic/Christian particularly) you probably have it hung up some where in the house (most place it in their kitchen). Da Vinci was also known to think and 'design' inventions like "flying machines" had they only the technology in his time, he would probably build his invention ideas. i can't really say more from the top of my head but this is just a few of the things that i remember from my sophomore year art class project.

He was homosexual? I always suspected but was never sure. And just what was Mona Lisa smiling at? Now I'm curious...

i've heard that Da Vinci painted Mona Lisa as a self-potrait... though, that's just hear-say. i don't have any physical evidence of that actually being true.

Yes Da Vinci was homosexual. But he was pagan and believed in divine feminine beauty and stuff thats why he painted the Mona Lisa. I read this in 'The Da Vinci Code' by Dan Brown. Basically Da Vinci painted Mona Lisa to look larger from the left than from the right (uneven horizon). Historically, the concepts of male and female have assigned sides, - left is female, and right is male. He was a big fan of feminine principles, he made Mona Lisa look more majestic from left than the right. Also theres a big clue that Mona Lisa is both male and female. In her name 'Mona Lisa' Like for example.. Amon was the Egyptian god of male fertility and Isis was his wife and Isis' ancient pictogram was once called L'ISA. AMON L'ISA And that, is what she'es smiling about. Quite disturbing I know xD To read the funny bits go to the library and borrow the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, it's a great book

That is so awesome. Yeah, I was going to read the book but decided against it only because it'd make my family think I was actually going to be normal. Which I'm not. Plus, I guess it relates to the bible a lot (so I've heard) and I've never read the bible so I'd be lost.
